The £200 grant we received through Bolton Green Umbrella meant that we could buy tools, seeds and planters for a new gardening project. Our Junior Members at our Westhoughton youth club set up a green group and learned how to plant, grow and care for plants, which in turn helped them improve their emotional wellbeing. We made a wall display too to show off what we had learned about gardening and wellbeing. Through the project we made new contacts with other environmental groups and Members More.....
BLGC Westhoughton
We are an informal and friendly youth group based at Westhoughton Youth Club. We are passionate about being green, gardening and improving our local area. We are currently taking part in a creative gardening project linked to improving emotional health.
We meet every week between 6pm -8pm on Tuesdays at Junior Youth Club.
If you are a young person aged 8-12 and live in Westhoughton or the surrounding areas, and would like to get involved in our green group then we would love to hear from you!
