I would like to express my thanks on behalf of Bolton and Bury Swifts for the £200 grant we received from Bolton LA High Street Clean Up Fund.

We decided to use the funds to support the last joint colony of Swifts and House Martins in Bromley Cross. We have a number of Swift boxes and Martin bowls ready to install at no cost on residents homes, as part of a mini engagement campaign planned for next Spring.

Swifts and Martins join us each Summer from Africa but sadly they are losing their homes as one by one roofs are renovated. We hope these funds will help us to bolster the colony of the birds and also encourage people to enjoy their stunning aerial displays as they brighten our summer skies!
